One way to empower a community is to provide support systems that facilitate well being and wholeness.

 

In 2011 the KLMCDC developed a program called The Deborah Project. Since that time, the project has grown by leaps and bounds. 

 

The Deborah Project is a program dedicated to helping single parent familes enhance parenting skills, overcome the challenges of parenting alone, as well as receive various types of support from professionals within the Greater Grand Rapids community. 

 

In 2013 we assisted over 300 women all over the city. This assistance came in the form of personal care items, a food pantry, diapers, day pampering, mentoring, childcare and counseling to name a few. The program is a wonderful success.
